My Phone B11

Tired of carrying around a lot of mobile phones and chargers around. Be it for business or personal use, carrying around extra equipment is always a hassle. Thanks a lot to Technology and Dual Sim phones, the need for carrying around an extra mobile phone has greatly diminished.  I've been going around and searching for the proper Dual Sim mobile phone to use.  From all the Dual Sim phones available in the the market the Myphone and Cherry brands seem most appealing from a price and functionality stand point. After all, you normally need Dual Sim phones for call and text features. I eventually decided to get a Myphone B11 Dual Sim Phone. The fact that Myphone phones are made in the Philippines caught my attention. Availability of parts and service centers is also a nice factor to consider. Original price for the MyPhone B11 was tagged at Php 999, but after inquiring at a Mega Cellular branch at Festival Mall Alabang, I found that the price dropped down to Php 850.  Without, any hesitation I decided to buy the MyPhone B11. I Have been using the MyPhone B11 for quite some time now and it has been working better than I expected. Aside from the Dual Sim feature, the MyPhone B11 also has a provision for a Micro SD Card Slot, FM radio, and MP3 player.  Battery life is also great, as a fully charged battery lasts for 5 days or more. The MyPhone B11 is light weight and has an elegant design.

Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset BH-503

Found this nice Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset BH-503 which you can use and pair with your Iphone 3G/3GS.  Haven't really tried it on other Iphone models, but I supposed it could also work.  Aside from it's outstanding sound quality, you could also use this for receiving and making voice calls.   Never have to worry again about those wires and enjoy true hands-free access.  The Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset BH-503 has good range of up to 10 m, I can use it when I get stuff or run errands in the house and get pretty decent connection.  Battery life is also good, as a full charged battery lasted me about 5 days of operation including standby time and an average of 2-3 hrs. operation daily.  The Nokia BH-503 is easy to operate and pair.  It also comes with a multi-function key, forward, rewind, volume controls and a start and pause key.  It also helps that the keys are embossed, so you can operate it even without looking.  For a fair price compared to other available brands this headset is quite a steal.  The headset fit is fixed though and you can't adjust the size to make it more comfortable.

Epson Trade to upgrade Promo Philippines

Found this great promo last week regarding a trade-in promo for Epsons LQ300+II printer (Dot Matrix Printer).  Had an Epson LX300 printer before that took us more than 10 years before it showed signs of wear and tear. Though this may not sound hot these days due to the advent of technology in the printing solutions department. Dot Matrix printers are very much in use today for Receipt and Invoice printing. This promo states that if you trade-in your Epson or Non-Epson Dot Matrix printers and get up to 30% discount when you buy an LQ300+II Dot Matrix Printer. Safety 1st Deluxe Care Fold-Up Booster

Safety 1st Deluxe Care Fold-Up Booster Seat in Blue
This is probably the most useful and handy child care item I've bought for my child.  I've had this for almost 5 years now as I originally bought it for my 1st child but now after almost 5 years it's still in good working condition and is now being used by my daughter.  The Safety 1st Deluxe Care Fold-Up Booster is easy to use and set-up, just pop and strap it unto any chair and your done. Adjustable chair straps allow you fit the Safety 1st Deluxe Care Fold-Up Booster safely in place. The tray can be adjusted to fit your growing child. You could also increase the height of the booster but only by 2 levels. Safety belt also holds your child securely in place. But I don't recommend leaving your child unattended. The Safety 1st Deluxe Care Fold-Up Booster is portable and folds-up so you could carry it around we with you. This is probably the best investment I've had as I was able to use it for a very long time.

Epson Stylus C90, Epson Stylus T13, & Epson Stylus ME32

I've been using my Epson Stylus C90 printer for almost 5 years. During that time I haven't encountered any major problems with my printer, aside for a few paper jams from time to time.  At that time I chose my Epson Stylus C90 printer from it's more popular counter parts the HP Deskjet printers due to it's durability, ease of use and maintenance. I've previously encountered problems with HP deskjet printers as they normally last for 1 year and normally unrepairable as there are no replacement parts released from HP.  Apparently, these particular units are classified by HP under unit exchange. Meaning HP normally replaces the whole unit when the printers are still under warranty.  So when your HP Deskjet printer breaks down after it's warranty period, goodbye printer, as there are no replacement parts released by HP. You could always try to source out second hand replacement parts from the Internet, but there is no guarantee on the quality of the replacement spare part.

After 3 years of using my Epson Stylus C90 printer, I finally tried to have it installed with a continuous ink flow system. Even after my printer prompted that it had already reached its maximum usable life. I was able to reset the error prompted and was still able to use my printer for 2 more years.  After a considerable number of pictures printed, my Epson Stylus C90 finally gave out "RIP" Epson Stylus C90 printer. Though my printer was still mechanically working, the carriage assembly needed replacement. After considering the cost of the replacement spare part and the hassles of having it repaired, I finally decided to go out and shop for another printer.

So i shoped for another Epson Stylus printer that has the same or better specs. with my old Epson Stylus C90 printer. Currently there was the Epson Stylus T13 and the Epson Stylus ME32. Physically they looked the same, except for the color. The Espon Stylus T13 is colored Black and Gray, while the Epson Stylus ME32 is white. Ink catridges for the Epson Stylus ME32 is also cheaper.  However, you can't really tell the difference from their print-out. The Epson Stylus ME32 is also priced considerably lower than the Epson Stylus T13. So hands-down I went for the the Epson Stylus ME32. So far the quilty of print-outs I've been getting is exceptional. However, I noticed that my printer encounters paper feed problems from time to time, maybe because the paper guide is fixed on 1 side and adjustable on the other side. Other than this I've been quite content on how my printer has been performing.

A4 Tech Q3-350 Glass Run Full Speed USB Optical Mouse

I've been using my USB Optical Mouse for almost 3 years now and it finally gave out. After looking at about a dozen different types of mouse's as a replacement, I decided to go for comfort, durability and  ease of use.  I've been using an A4 Tech keyboard for quite sometime time now and have found it to be durable and comfortable to use.  So I decided to shop for an A4 tech mouse for my laptop. I've originally planned to purchase a wireless mouse but ended up deciding to purchase a USB mouse based on ease.  Besides I didn't want to go through the motions of periodically changing the battery. So I tried the A4 tech Q3-350 Glass Run Full Speed USB Optical Mouse. It has a sleek stylish design that makes it a perfect eye candy, incredible smooth cursor movement that makes is ideal for office, drawing or gaming applications. It has a 4-way wheel mouse which can be activated by software driver. It is low powered and conserves your battery life. It can easily move on glass, smooth and even dusty surfaces. However, the cable length is only about 60 cm, which is ideal for laptops. Over all the A4 Tech Q3-350 Glass Run Full Speed USB Optical Mouse is an excellent buy for its price.

Things to consider when buying gadgets/devices from a different Country or Region

Most of those who frequently travel to different countries often find vast differences in the price of certain products or services. Be it higher or lower, especially when you convert the amount into your local currency. Same is true with gadgets and devices. Due to this price difference, the unwary tourist often gets enticed into buying products that are not commonly found or much expensively sold in their country. He grabs the opportunity
without evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of the item. Only to be disappointed on the gadget purchased.

However, have we ever stopped to consider, Why such a difference in cost? Here are some items to consider when buying gadgets/devices from a different country or region:

1. Will the gadget work in the country I'll be using the device in? Let's look at things in a different perspective, some gadgets were meant to be only released in certain countries due to their specific functions and features. Gadgets are usually customized/set to the country they were released in. So do your homework, and check the specs. before even considering buying the gadget. Otherwise, you'll end-up with a cheaply priced gadget that you can't fully make use of.

2. What is the Voltage Rating? Is the voltage rating auto-volt from 110-220V or not? Can I use The gadget in my home country without the use of a transformer? Using a transformer would make the set-up of your gadget bulky.

3. Know your warranty. Let's face it as good is the quality of your gadget, sooner or later it would eventually breakdown. So it is important to know the warranty entitlement of your gadget. Will I be able to claim for warranty in my country? Is there a service center near my area?

As good a device is, you should always be a cautious shopper. Investigate and research the device before making the purchase.
